You wake up one day and decide that you are determined to lose weight. What do you do? You start googling diet pills and extreme diets which normally start with “Lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks” or some other ridiculous title which sounds like a really though task. The thing is that even if the wonder diet works for you, after the first week you will be exhausted of being hungry all the time and not being able to eat your favorite foods. All you will be thinking of is “I can’t wait until this is over, so I could eat normal again”. After your diet is over, you stuff yourself like crazy with all the greasy and sugary foods you can get your hands on and the weight grows back faster than it took you to lose it. As a “reward “ for all of that effort, you gain a lot more than you got rid off. That’s called the “yo-yo effect”. This happens when your body gets exhausted from not getting what it’s used to. It feels stressed out, tired and just feels the need to catch up with what its been missing out on. Therefore, you should never do anything drastic to it and try taking one step at a time instead.
