If you just go one day from 3000 to 800, then you would be losing weight for a little while, but soon it would stop completely, because your body would slow down your metabolism in order to save energy, and no matter how little you eat or how much you exercise, you would not lose any more weight. If you want to lose weight and keep it off, you need to cut down on food gradually, so your body wouldn’t think it needs to save any extra resources.
